BIOGRAPHY

Leonard Ng is the author of the poetry collections This Mortal World and Changes and Chances, the former shortlisted for the 2012 Singapore Literature Prize. He is also the translator of several classical Chinese works into English, including the Tao Te ChingThe Art of WarThe Complete Poems of Yu Xuanji, and Lu Ji’s Rhapsody on Literature. He has co-edited the anthologies SG Poems 2017-2018 (2018), and Contour: A Lyric Cartography of Singapore (2019).

In addition to his own books, his work has appeared in the journals AsymptoteCeriphKitaab, and Quarterly Literary Review Singapore, as well as in the anthologies Love Gathers AllCoastFrom Walden to Woodlands, and Union.

Leonard studied English Literature and Sociology at the National University of Singapore, graduating with First Class Honours. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education at Nanyang Technological University.

For a living, Leonard provides a range of writing and editing services for a variety of clients, including Hay Group, Feinmetall Singapore, and the Ministry of National Development. He also tutors students in English Language and Literature as well as General Paper for the GCE ‘A’-Level examinations.
