Tsunami
Yesterday Japan became
Atlantis. But we cannot
turn into water-people
who can breathe with gills and live
in the crystal palaces
on the bed of the ocean.
Fishes out of water, men
in their depths, in their places.
While I was asleep, countries
drank a drop too much, had wine
forced on their faces. And there
were people all over who
dissolved into oblivion.
What is the measure of God’s
fury? The world is dying.
