BIOGRAPHY
Johar Buang is a Singapore Malay poet. He won the SEA Write Award in 2010; the National Book Development Council Singapore’s Singapore Literature Prize in 2010 and 2014, the Singapore Book Award in 1994, and the National Arts Council’s Golden Point Award in 1999. He began writing in the early 1980s, and has worked in various genres. Johar Buang has published poetry collections Mawar Tajalli (2016), Yang Menjadi Sufi (2015), Pasar Diri (2012), and Sampai Di Singgahsana Cinta (2009); and short story collections Kisah Seorang Zahid (1992) and Hari Terakhir Seorang Sufi (2000).
